Description

Little Millet Sama Rice, also known as Sama Chawal or Samai, is a versatile and nutritious alternative to regular rice. Little Millet Sama Rice is a wholesome, tasty, and nutrient-dense addition to any meal.

  1. Soak 1 cup sama rice for 15-20 minutes.

  2. Heat 2 tbsp of oil or ghee in a pan, add cumin, sauté till the oil become fragrant and the cumin crackles. Then add green chilies and peanuts. Stir and mix well.

  3. Drain the water from the sama rice and add the sama rice to the sautéed mixture. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until the sama rice is cooked completely, Serve with yoghurt.

  4. Note: If wanted the sama rice to have a good soft texture so have added 2 cups water. Please reduce the water to 1.5 cups for a more separate texture. If you are not making for fasting, then you can add any veggies of your choice.
